Quarterly Day Counts Explained

A quarter is a three-month period used to organise a calendar year, financial year, reporting cycle, or project schedule. The number of days in a quarter depends on which months it contains and whether February has 28 or 29 days.

For a standard calendar year, quarters contain either 90, 91, or 92 days. The quickest way to check a specific period is to identify its three months, add their day counts, and account for leap years where necessary.
